About Us

Veloquinash opened in twenty nineteen when husband-and-wife team Daniel and Sophia relocated from New York City to raise their family in North Carolina. After years working in some of the finest pastry kitchens in Manhattan and Paris, they wanted to create a neighborhood workshop where people could experience true European-quality desserts made with Southern hospitality. The tiny shop on Brookside Avenue quickly became known for cakes that taste as incredible as they look. Today the same couple still personally makes every dessert with help from a small team of passionate bakers.

We start work at three in the morning to ensure croissants come out of the oven exactly when the shop opens at seven. Watching customers take their first bite and seeing their eyes light up is the reason we keep such early hours. Regulars have become friends who celebrate birthdays, graduations, and new babies with us year after year. Many say walking through our door feels like stepping into a little piece of France right here in Raleigh.
